Although this looks like I don't like Spice up your life, I actually thought it was ok. The only details I dislike are very little. But overall "ok" is the best word to describe this episode. I haven't seen a new episode for a month, but that was because I was focused on other stuff: Watching movies, playing Overwatch, spending the time with my cousins...

Let's talk about the good stuff: I like the fact that the episode is a bit focused on cooking. And I love cooking. I love cooking fish, cooking meat, cooking rice... Pasta doesn't count because it's the easiest way to cook. And I like the new characters. I personally love Coriander Cumin because he's pretty negative, like Hank from Finding Dory. And I like watching this personality in a show like this. And I cracked up when I saw the design of Zesty Gourmand. She looks like a stick with a man's face. rofl  And I like the fact that the song tells the conflict instead of directly telling it with obvious sentences, so I like that. It's the kind of narrative that I love from musicals.

I didn't like two details from this episode: First, there's a lot of repetition. For example, remember that map from Twilight's castle in the season 5? It came back, again. Now it can send two ponies, again. They can solve the problem, again. So it's pretty much possible that we're gonna see the map working like in season 5 the rest of the season 6. It could have been prefectly possible that the episode began with Rarity telling to Pinkie "Hey, I want to go to Canterlot, wanna join?". My point is: I want to see something new and refreshing.

Second, although Pinkie Pie wasn't obnoxious during the whole episode, there were three unnecessary instants:
-When she shouts quickly what cutie marks are going to travel in the beginning.
-When she eats the food by putting her head glued to the plate. It's... odd. Not funny, just... odd.
-When she shouts "group hug" and after that she has that... evil laugh. I was thinking more about the Joker than about Pinkie! It's so batshit crazy!

I know that I said it too many times, but I'm sorry, it's just too damn easy. I don't think that details like these defines Pinkie Pie. Imagine that Pinkie want to write something, so she eats the pencil and it comes out of her left ear. Or Pinkie wants to go out, so to do that she has to spin out her hooves or her neck like a giraffe. These are details that doesn't define her. Nowadays Pinkie is with screams what anime industry is with lolicons.

But, after all that, I think the episode was ok. It's a bit better than Flutter Butter, but that's because Zephyr wasn't a likeable character. He's pretty selfish, like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, so I don't understand how many people love that episode. With this one, I understand why people love it. But I'm still waiting for that great episode in the season 6, like On your marks.

About the last sentence from the last panel: If you've seen Batman V Superman, you'll probably know what comparison I've made.
